What services does Personal Attendants provide?

Personal attendants provides companionship care including respite care, provide/ arrange transportation, activities of daily living, crafts/ games/ reading, assist in preparing grocery list, social events, babysitting. Home helper care including home management and chores, meal planning/ preparation, laundry, linen change, errands/ shopping, plant care, check up calls, assist with pet care. Personal care including bathing, grooming, dressing, incontinence, monitor diet and eating, daily exercise/ walks, mobility, medication reminders, and coordinate social activities.

Are services available 24 hours, 7 days a week?
Yes. Services are available for as little as a couple hours a visit up to 24 hours, 7 days a week, 365 days a year.

Do you provide services to those in nursing homes or assisted living communities?
Yes, Personal Attendants may provide companionship and personal care especially one on one care in nursing homes or assisted living communities to residents who may wish or need additional care that could not be otherwise provided through them.

Is there a written plan of care for each client?
Yes, there is a written plan of care for each patient. A supervisor will meet with the patient and family to implement a comprehensive patient centered care approach. The special needs of the care recipient are the focus of the Plan of Care.

Through continuous quality assurance and improvement programs, utilization review and dedicated home care team, we are committed to providing high quality, honesty, integrity and compassion in the delivery of your home care services.

Will I have the same Personal Attendant all the time?
Yes, our goal is to provide the best fit attendant for each patient. Each patient is cared for individually and each caregiver is carefully selected to best fit each patients needs.

What if my Personal Attendant is sick or on vacation?
If your Personal Attendant is sick or on vacation a replacement attendant on duty will always be available as needed. Patient will be notified soon as possible, and make arrangements and changes as necessary. Our priority is always the patient’s safety and security.

Is Homemakers and Personal Attendants a cleaning company or maid service?
No, but Personal Attendants can provide light house management including laundry, linen change, ironing.

What are your rates and minimum hours of service?
Rates are usually negotiable depending on individual needs; starting at $18.50 an hour. A minimum of four hours is required. Please contact our office for a specific rate, and inquiry.

How are Personal Attendants selected?
All Personal Attendants are thoroughly screened, insured and bonded. Screening includes criminal background clearance, drug and alcohol screening, and DMV check. Personal Attendants are carefully chosen to perform various patient care activities. The Personal Attendant will stay within his/her scope of practice and follow a plan of care established by the Supervisor. The Personal Attendant is responsible for encouraging maximum independence of the patient, and maintaining a clean and safe environment.

How quickly can homecare services be provided/ started?
After an in-home evaluation with a supervisor services can be provided as quickly as 24 to 48 hours.

Can I change the schedule if I have an appointment to keep?
Yes, you can change the schedule if needed a courtesy call 24 hours in advance is appreciated.

How can I start homecare services with Homemakers and Personal Attendants?
You may start homecare services by calling (661) 298-5010 and speak with a staff coordinator, and set up a free in-home evaluation. During the evaluation a comprehensive patient centered plan of care is implemented, and then a caregiver is selected to best fit the needs and wants of each patient.
